TFL Tours supports a sustainable vision of the travel and tourism industry and its sustainable impact on ecosystems, communities, destinations and society and works to create more sustainability awareness. Our company’s primary aspiration is absolute quality, and we do believe sustainability is a key element in quality improvement. Our choice is progress, and it starts with a single change. So, our mission is to bring change through our services and grow as a sustainable DMC having an active role in spreading sustainability practices standards involving impact areas such as natural environment, energy resources, and socio-cultural realities both nationally and internationally. We promote and support small local businesses, organic food producers, artisan workshops and their products through our tours. Our commitment is helping to safeguard the preservation of these local activities and protect old local traditions.
For all the reasons above, two years ago, TFL Tours decided to become a sustainable tour operator & DMC and decided to engage in the sustainability certification process with Travelife.
Our main goal was, and still is, to learn, improve and promote good sustainability practices on social, environmental and economic aspects of our business. We aim to minimize the negative impacts and to maximize the positive impacts on tourism of our operations and to influence our clients and partners to do the same. We constantly work to find new sustainable experiences and to explore new sustainable destinations to include in our excursions or to promote to our clients. We have involved our partners and suppliers in this process of being a sustainable tour operator and we’ll continue to implement our future sustainability policies.
TFL Tours currently contributes to the implementation of 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals of the European Agenda 2030 as follows:
- Clean water and sanitation (reduction of the water waste)
- Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (progress in energy efficiency)
- Decent work and economic growth
- Responsible consumption and production (enhancement of local products)
- Climate action
