Alberobello
You will meet your guide at the port of Bari and you will depart to Alberobello.
Alberobello is a unique and picturesque destination which is definitively worth a visit. The small town has been made a UNESCO World Heritage site for its unusual quarters of trulli, the characteristic white-washed conical-roofed houses of the area. It makes an interesting half day-trip destination.
The main activity in Alberobello is wandering around looking at trulli.
The centre of Alberobello is mostly composed of typical small-town Italian streets and buildings, with a few trulli interspersed among the buildings in an unreal fashion. Some older back streets are lined chiefly with residential trulli. The most picturesque parts of Alberobello, though, and the strangest, are the two areas composed almost entirely of trulli; over a thousand of them. Here the little white pointy-topped dwellings are clustered together like a hobbit town.
After the tour you will also have some free time to take pictures and buy some local products.
Return to the port afterwards.
The White Town of Ostuni
After meeting your guide at the pier you will depart towards Ostuni.
Ostuni is one of the most stunning cities in southern Italy famous for the incredible effect of its whitewashed houses. It is a pure and charming example of Mediterranean architecture.
The town has a series of staircases, tiny roads, lanes, and arches. Signs of the Middle Ages are visible in every corner, in every view to the sea, in the doorway of a palace, in the walls of a convent or the facade of a church.
Ostuni can be considered one of the most attractive cities in the region and an essential part for a shore excursion from Bari.
